KEY FEATURES SUMMARISED

Wagtails cottage apartment is a 1 double-bedroom ground floor s/c apartment featuring:

  • As good a location/position as you could ask for for a holiday break.
  • Situated right in the heart of Llanmadoc, close to Cwm Ivy National Trust walks/woods, and several local nature reserves.
  • Accomodation is all on the ground floor. There is off road parking in your own front drive.
  • Friendly, welcoming, and hopefully informative host owners live next door in Gower Cottage but we leave our guests do their own thing - do pop in for a cuppa however when down. Owners that make an effort and care very much that our guests have an enjoyable stay and all necessary facilities. Your time off work / or retirement time is valuable to you and we want you to enjoy your stay.  We love meeting our guests and having a good old natter about Gower.
  • Wine, milk, and guests information pack on arrival.
  • Sleeps 2 in one double bed, in one bedroom - which leads through door to private good size bathroom. Another 1 or 2 kids or one adult on sofabed. We usually tell our guests that the apartment is ideal for a couple, but perhaps too small for a family. However we regularly have families to stay including several with three children, and they have always thoroughly enjoyed (kids have slept on sofabed, and sometimes baby in travel cot in bedroom with parents). Ideal for comfort is one adult couple, and perhaps one child on sofabed. (We do not want to mislead guests and want you to enjoy).
  • We usually allow sensible tame dogs [no dangerous dogs].
  • Lounge/Dining room with a rustic pine table, 4 nice pine chairs, two seater sofabed, single armchair, bookcase and CD player & DAB radio.
  • Widescreen Panasonic 36inch CRT tv with Sky box and Panasonic DVD player in lounge.

own off road parking to the front door

double bed is ensuite, and the bathroom is spotlessly clean and modern. We insist on quality beds/bedding, and this bed was bought in Aug 07 (and has a quality pocket sprung mattress).

We provide fresh bed-linen & towels as well as a bottle of wine for our guests.

We have just fitted a new Victorian style traditional 'Savoy' three piece porcelain bathroom suite fitted in Jan 08 including white enamel shower-bath (with safety handles and anti-slip floor), pedestal sink, and stylish conventional WC. (NB: Bathroom photos on web gallery are now out of date and will shortly be replaced).

Layout is as follows: enter front door, into kitchen area, open plan into lounge with dining table, then through door into double bedroom, which then leads through another door into the bathroom. All situated on ground floor.

Conscious of those with dust allergies, we have minimised the soft-furnishings (laminate flooring  throughout and leather sofas). Our usual guests are couples alone or with up to two children who want quality and comfort as well as a great location, but either can't find or don't need a larger cottage. There is a quality leather metal action sofabed in the lounge (new Feb 08) suitable for one adult or two children. Therefore the cottage apartment can sleep a family of up to four and regularly does so (thoroughly enjoyed). The lounge also has a widescreen Panasonic TV and DVD player- and we provide a load of recent DVDs. Modest in size yet we have tried to provide all those home comforts to help you enjoy your stay e.g. quality pillows and duvet, books, decent wall-hangings, DAB digital alarm/radios in lounge and bedroom, Denby crockery, decent cutlery, sky movies and sports, landline phone

BT wireless (WIFI) broadband available free of charge.

The main strengths of Wagtails are: fab location, friendly hosts, simple unfussy booking process, sensible prices, good key facilities and very well 'kitted out', with attention to detail. The friendly owners (that's us - Heather and Dai) live next door, are always keen to welcome and provide help and advice about what to do, where to eat etc. yet leave you get on with it and have the privacy and peace you came to enjoy.
